The Good, the Bad, and the Hilarious
Author – Diane Auten
I can’t stop smiling! This is such a delightful read.
Through real-time anecdotes, this book follows Diane’s momlife from when her sons were two – to ten years old. I smiled, chuckled, felt amazed and roared laughing a few times.
The books’ topics include learning about body parts, relationship skills, and life skills. Plus, Diane offers mom insights on communicating honestly, setting limits, and navigating through the literal minds of her boys.
As I read, I often thought, Diane, you are one together woman! The book is so good I sent a text to my daughter, who grew up in a very female environment, letting her know that if she ever has boys, this is a must read.
The Joy of Raising Boys would also be a great read for moms who have boys. You would be in such good company, and I can only imagine, learn about normal boy development or take delight in how it reinforces your experience.
Diane Auten is a good story teller (she is after all a college communications professor), weaving some of what experts say about raising children and boys together with her own, home grown, well thought out experience. I love the peek, at the end, into the early teen years, by the way.
Enjoy your read! The Joy of Raising Boys – the Good, the Bad, and the Hilarious.
